Gibson Gives and JoyRx Music are joining forces for a second consecutive year to bring the healing power of music to kids facing cancer and other serious illnesses. Musicians involved in the charitable initiative include Ziggy Marley, Maná guitarist Sergio Vallin and Austin-based singer-songwriter Emily Wolfe.
Starting September 1, the young Gibson Generation Group musicians, also known as “Gibson G3,” will provide virtual music mentorship for Children’s Cancer Association which serves children by sharing guitar lessons, and giving hospitalized kids the chance to learn how to play an instrument.
The performances and guitar lessons will be released throughout the year and can be viewed by the public 24/7, and for free at JoyRxMusic.org/Gibson.
Gibson Gives is the philanthropic arm of the Nashville-based guitar maker.
James “JC” Curleigh, President and CEO of Gibson, talks Gibson Gives:
September marks Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and from September 1 through September 22, Gibson and JoyRx Music (formerly MyMusicRx) will release performances from eight-time GRAMMY winner Marley, Vallín, and blues-rock, singer-songwriter-guitarist Emily Wolfe.
