CTHTR Cassette Release Brings Fans
Ty Segall and White Fence had a little tuneup at a secret LA location the other night, supported by Death Valley Girls and CTHTR.
In an early week, late-night surprise, Segall and his principal partner in the band, Tim Presley, came out with White Fence following opening sets by CTHTR, who celebrated a cassette release, and Death Valley Girls, who are heading out on tour.

Ty Segall and White Fence Takes ‘Joy’ on the Road
White Fence is promoting the album Joy, and launches the supporting tour at Echoplex on Oct. 2. The band is one of the featured acts at Desert Daze on Oct. 14.
White Fence brought on a Grateful Dead-style jam that captivated the lucky crowd on hand.
Presley told CaliforniaRocker.com he was glad to be bringing Joy to the people and was looking forward to Desert Daze, where the band has played before.
‘Joy’ is ‘Climactic Essence’ of ‘Sequential Time’
Segall and White Fence said in a release that they “made a record not just of songs, but of climactic essence – a stretch of sequential time organized for entertainment’s sake!”
Not sure what that means, but the album Joy is a fuzzy, retro rocker that spins the best of the early-1970s style into modern times and impresses.
The Peacers will be opening some gigs, Lavender Flu some others.
